Fattoria Mancini is a private company, the current properties of which have been in the Mancini family from the middle of the nineteenth century. They cover around 80 hectares in the District of Pesaro, of which 34 are cultivated with vines. The vineyards are all located in the Natural Park of Mount San Bartolo, along the northern coastline of Pesaro.
The principal grape variety (14 ha ), is Pinot Nero (Pinot Noir) the original variety of which has been conserved for five generations of winegrowers, after being imported into the area at the start of the nineteenth century by the Napoleonic administration. The adjustment of this noble variety to the ideal conditions of the Natural Park of Mount San Bartolo, allow us today to obtain unique wines from a variety of Pinot Noir that has recently been considered an “isolated genetic” by the University of Milan. Produced from 1998 as IGT (Indicazione Geografica Tipica) with the commercial name “Impero”, from the year 2000 it obtained the DOC (Denominazione di Origine Controllata) of Colli Pesaresi Focara Pinot Nero. Of this Fattoria Mancini is actually the unique producer.
In addition to the traditional red vinification, Fattoria Mancini also produces a specialty wine, obtained from a white vinification of Pinot Noir, fermented and aged in barriques. Produced as an IGT wine, it is commercialised with the name “Impero” bianco. Other typical local grape varieties are also cultivated at Fattoria Mancini: Sangiovese, Montepulciano and above all Albanella. Albanella is the typical and exclusive white grape of Pesaro, to which we have always dedicated a lot of attention it being the principal variety (75 %) of the Colli Pesaresi Roncaglia DOC. Also for the DOC Colli Pesaresi Roncaglia, Fattoria Mancini is for the moment the unique producer.
