CANDIDO

The vineyard, property of the third generation of the Candido family, produces in Sandonaci and Guagnano and in the entire area of “Salice Salentino”. The cultivated surface is 160 hectors divided by 90% for the production of red wine, and the remaining 10% for white wines. The climate is Mediterranean, with scarse rains: from 300 mm to 700 mm annualy. The ripening of the grapes is slow and gradual from the strong temperature changes between day and night, which allow for the development of aromas and accumulation of extracted substances that give the wine its body. The land is mainly formed by limestone ground, and also loamy soil, of medium and various composition (generally not very fertile).

The firm produces two million bottles annualy, in 750 ml bottles, to the market in Sweden, Denmark, Norwey, Holand, Germany , Austria, Switzerland, United Kingdom and the United States.
